In the early 1920’s thru to the 1950’s Oil Pumps, coined
“Lubesters” were an intricate part early of the gas
Stations. Lubesters were the only easy way to dispense oil both
for the attendant and customer; it was not until packaged oil came
about did we see the decline of Oil Dispensers. Many dispensers
were small hand carry units while others were fairly large units
with 3 compartments and wheels to easily move them about the service
stations.
